The subtitle for this exhibition is Seattle Ceramics 19641977, which is a little like saying New York Painting 19491965. This was a golden era, when West Coast American potters broke from the restrictions of the 1950s into Pop and funk and op, all under the brilliant, elegant influence of Japan. Youve got Robert Arnesons giant stack of Oreos, Irv Teppers surfers riding a slice of meringue pie, Patti Warashinas gleaming Airstream-turkey hybrid, Howard Kottlers queering of American Gothic. The display is a little uptight, but the pleasure is polymorphous. (Henry Art Gallery, 15th Ave NE and 41st St, www.henryart.org, 11 am4 pm, $10 suggested)
