Happy Hour at Norm's Eatery & Alehouse

In the early 1900s, Dr. Duncan MacDougall combined a scale with a deathbed. Upon studying the dying, he determined that the human soul weighs 21 grams. A follow-up study of deceased dogs failed to tip the scale, and MacDougall concluded that animals have no soul. Today, Fremont's neighborhood bar Norm's Eatery & Ale House welcomes both the soulful and soulless, and numerous dogs lie prone under tables, staring at nothing. As for happy hour, Norm's features a daily $3 draft selection (including Moose Drool, Widmer Hefeweizen, and Boundary Bay) and a curious $5 appetizer menu (the chicken chili lists cocoa, peanut butter, and beer as ingredients). During the weekend, happy-hour specials include $4 bloody marys and mimosas.
