People are weird. This irrefutable fact is bountifully borne out at this completely winning, totally odd event in which books rendered in various comestible forms are admired by their creators and hangers-on and the curious, then consumed with relish (perhaps even actual relish: one '05 Edible Book Fest entry, A Clash of Kings, involved a Whopper and a can of Budweiser). Rumors regarding this year's entrants indicate that, while a book rendered in cake is always popular, bacon may be a favored medium. (Sat April 1 (no joke), at 826 Seattle/ Greenwood Space Travel Supply Co, 8414 Greenwood Ave N; viewing at 2 pm, books ingested at 3 pm; $5 suggested donation; info at www.frybooks.com.)
