CURT DOUGHTY

Nestled in the cobblestone underbelly of the Pike Place Market, the Alibi Room is a wood-paneled mirage of shifting hallways, mirrored ceilings, and slanting light. Budget-minded cineastes can peruse a screenplay or two (dozens are stacked near the front door), and enjoy a happy-hour priced $3 draft beer with one of the items from the $4 food menu. (The lamb shashlik with minted cucumber yogurt is wonderful, as are the green-curry mussels.) The west windows frame a partial view of our shimmering Sound, while the east windows showcase a mural of petrified confetti, the famous Wall of Gum.
