This is going to be the kind of movie you either totally get or totally don't: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a comic-booky comic-book adaptation with visible sound effects, over-the-top fight scenes, and a manic pace, and it is, ultimately, a love story. With sound bites from The Legend of Zelda and Seinfeld, this is the kind of ADD pop-culture overload that stuffy media professors warned us about in the 1950s, and it's glorious. Love it or hate it, you've never seen anything quite like it. (See Movie Times: thestranger.com/film.)
