Very Authentic Delicious Brazilian

This place is amazing! I spent two years in Brazil, and after being back in Seattle for almost a year I was craving for some Brazilian food! I was a little discouraged after reading the review on here, but since its the only Brazilian restaurant in Seattle I decided to give it a try! Boy was I VERY thankful I did! First off, the atmosphere is so laid back, warm, and friendly - very Brazilian! Secondly, and most importantly, the food was AMAZING! I had the Moqueca de Peixe, which was halibut in a coconut milk and palm oil sauce, it was amazing, it brought me back to the beaches of Brazil! My partner had the Feijoda, a black bean stew which I think they described as the national dish of Brazil! I had a bite and really liked it, and I'm not even a bean fan. So for those of you who might be discouraged by the previous reviews, don't be! Maybe this person went on a night where they were a little off. But I had an amazing experience and I always recommend this place to friends! It was really worth the time and money to try this place.

Not too bad...

I enjoyed my time at Tempero do Brazil. It was very laid back. The food was okay, slightly bland, and then I squeezed the side of lime over my food - and tah-dah! Lots of flavor. The same was true of the person that was with me. It was kind of like a cross between mexican and thai food. Anyway, I wasn't amazed, but I'd go back.

Disappointing

I rank Tempero do Brasil one star only because there is no lower option. This place is a big disapointment. First, there are only two vegetraian options, neither of which was available the night I went. I ordered a shrimp dish which sounded interesting, but recieved a plate of 6 small shrimp along with a large portion of white rice and mashed potatoes. My partner ordered a halibut dish that came with an uninteresting Masala-like sauce with no vegetables other than some diced potatoes. At $18 to $19 per entree these dishes were no way worth it. We also had to wait nearly an hour to get served, the excuse being the rice wasn't ready. The place has possibilities, but they sorely need to get their act together and lower their prices if they insist on serving the mediocre fare we experienced.
