Bill's Off Broadway (Capitol Hill)

725 E Pine St
Seattle, WA 98122
(206) 323-7200
Website

A Capitol Hill institution, Bill's has smooth wooden tables, worn green carpet, and potted plants everywhere. You may overhear someone talking about sports. The waiters—God bless 'em—are sweet (albeit sometimes flustered and preoccupied). The pizza is thick, supercheesy, and greasy—not everyone's cup of tea, but exactly how some people like it.

Breakfast @ Bill's

An uncrowded brunch on Capitol Hill?! Breakfast pizzas, vanilla stoli french toast and a smattering of traditional breakfast fare. Not gourmet dining by any means, but the price is right and the atmosphere is welcoming. Decent, spicy Bloody Marys, too. I laughed as I drove past Linda's - viewing a 45 minute wait for tables. Guess the secret's not out...yet.

Pretty good for Seattle

I'm also from Chicago and nothing here can measure up, however, I find myself stopping at Bill's when I have a pizza craving. I agree about the service problem, some of the servers are GREAT and other ones are horrible. I was once told the water was "self service" when I asked for a glass of water. Uh no, it never was before or after. The waitress that said it seemed very uncaring about customers.

Bad Pizza

Coming from Chicago, I find the pizza at this place disgusting beyond belief. It's not even pizza, it's some sort of dough-based thing covered in about 4 pounds of tasteless, greasy cheese. Some other reviewer said "Stick with the pizza" -- I say stick with the beer, because if you're trashed enough you won't really care how bad the pizza is. Good music though, albeit somewhat predictable (expect New Order to play at least three times during your visit). Service is good.

Nice stop on a pub crawl.. Or a destination

I've never been inside of Bill's sober, maybe to put up a poster or something, but Bill's is great for A) servicable pizza in a drunken emergency (when Hot Mamas isn't available because your ex-girlfriend is holding court there), and B) getting drunk, period. It's a great place stop and have 5 or more drinks with a pal or a date and talk, eat cheese sticks, and maybe a little pizza. It's not gourmet, but it's not pretending to be and really, isn't there enough of that? Kudos to a real neighborhood spot.

Better Pizza Elsewhere

The pizza here is ok, but inconsistent. The staff mostly rude. The cooks look like they should be put through a car wash. The jukebox is always loud and playing awful country. Better pizza at Hot Mama's for cheaper and no wait. Go to Lindas to drink.

Read the menu CAREFULLY

I wanted a sandwich, so I thought I would get the house sub... BEWARE! the description of subs is one big run-on sentence that seems to be part of the description for the chicken pita, so I missed the all-important fact that it was served open-faced with 7 pounds of melted cheese. Looked like I ate it the day before... still, nice people and a good beer...

I can barely remember...

I think I can honestly say that every time I've entered this place there's a gaping hole in my memory when I wake up the next morning with someone's couch fabric pattern imprinted on my face. The pizza is a perfect antidote to what the drinks do to you. They're really good at serving drinks. Really good.

real deal

The pita platter is great for staving off a blackout or not wanting to burst your cal. count on lunch. It's like Frites on a pizza level: you don't want to eat the whole thing but you want to remember tomorrow too. Cheap drinks and eats. Be prepared for the exteeeeeme cheese sensation.

A favorite

The pizzas are heavy and most of the time delicious...lots of cheese! But the pizzas do seem to vary in consitency depending on the pizza maker working. Service ranges from "what the fuck to you want" to "how can I please you today", depending on the server. Xena rocks!

Stick with Pizza at Bills

It's a nice bar, great atmosphere and the pizza is fine ( for a cheese bomb) but for the love of christ stay the fuck away from anything that's not pizza. Their soups are weird: like they put pickeled canned vegetables in 'em.
