Satellite Lounge (Capitol Hill)

1118 E Pike St
Seattle, WA 98122
(206) 324-4019
Website

Hours: Daily 3 pm-2 am
Categories: Bar, Restaurant

Restaurant Details

  • Boasting some of the most generous drink specials in town, Satellite Lounge is terribly underutilized by Seattle's hung-over community, whose heads would be quickly relieved by the salty, heavy breakfasts served on Saturday and Sunday mornings—particularly the eggs-and-steak dish. The Satellite also has excellent chicken wings—maybe the best on Capitol Hill.
  • Features: Bar/Happy Hour, Cheap Eats, Good for Groups and Free Wi-Fi
  • Cuisine: New American and Pub Grub

Bar Details

  • The Satellite is comfortable and cheap. The most wonderful crabby bartender works there, and he will look down on you over his glasses when he thinks you are being dumb, which is always. But he likes you, promise.
  • Hours: Daily 3 pm-2 am
  • Happy Hour: Mon-Sat 4-7 pm, Sun 1:30-7 pm (food and drink specials).
  • Features: Full Menu, Happy Hour and Free Wi-Fi

"my favorite happy hour"

The Satellite Lounge is Seattle's answer to Cheers!!! The staff is outgoing amd observant, giving you the feeling that you have always been part of the family and are always welcome. Prices for happy hour food and beverages are hard to beat and of course the food is excellent. Special events occur throughout the week, including DJ night and Lady's night. Sundays, they are open at 11:30AM with a great breakfast menu. 4 tv"s and a great jukebox! The rating would be 5-star if everything was free!!!!

Man, the rock shows we saw back in the day at the Satellite Bar and Grill in the late 80's and early 90's while munching on onion rings and mini burgers was what newbies to Seattle will never understand. It's like trying to explain Tolstoy to Harry Potter fans. You're soooooo cool Seattle hipsters, and your reviews are so relevant. I follow your lead.

Talked Phillies & Eagles with one of the bartenders over some $1.25 PBRS. Got the most mild-mannered bartender experience in Seattle from the other dude, Scott.

Wings were a little too salty, but not much to complain about here. Great place.

great burgers!Stiff drinks!

We avoided the Satellite for a longtime because it seemed like a clubhouse where members only applied and we weren't members. I heard its not part of the Comet Tavern anymore and we gave it a try. I was shocked when the bartender (its either Bill or Bob from the East Coast)remembered me and asked "where the hell I've been." He made us feel very welcome after I told him why I left. He got the kitchen to stay open for us after it just closed and got 2 huge, delicious burgers (for the price of one) and a good buzz for about twenty bux. You can taste the alcohol in your drink there. It's dark and has televisions everywhere playing every sports game and the movie Barbarella.

where have you been!!!

The best Burgers in the city. Most eclectic crowd in town! Great bar food and by far the best pour and drink prices around. The Satellite still holds it own after all these years.

Satalongtime

I sat AT the bar for 20 minutes. People were walking up to the left and right of me getting their orders filled pronto, while I silently waited to be served. It wasn't even busy. I am not the kind of person to shout and harrass the bartenders. They decided to ignore me regardless so I took a short walk to some old favs down the street. This is not the first time I've had to wait forever for a drink. The same happens when you try to close your tab. It's not worth hanging out here. However, they do tend to show excellent artwork, and the food specials are generous.

Don't go for the jukebox

While a few years back, Satellite boasted what could quite arguably have been the best jukebox in Seattle, these days it falls flat. However, like the reviewers that came before me, I have to laud the drink specials as very very amazing, not to mention the usual strength of the pour. The food, while fairly standard pub cuisine, is done very well. If you're looking for PBR and tasty sliders, this is the place for you!

Air Conditioning

Seriously, AIR CONDITIONING and $1.25 PBR's and usually a game on tv. The food is not as good as it used to be. And people get all butt hurt about the service but get over it and don't take everything so personally.
