Bamboo Garden is heaven on earth for vegetarians/vegans when the craving for Chinese food hits. The menu is huge, but I usually only order the hot pot dishes or Sesame Chicken. I'm not a super huge fan of the corn chowder (it's a bit thick for my tastes) but I really like the wonton soup. The food comes out FAST and the service is fantastic

I had the weirdest experience ever in a resturant. After the meal was served the servers stood 7 feet away from our table inculding another couple and watched us eat. I thought the place was closing soon because everytime a plate was emptied, the server quickly took it away. then after we paid our meal, we stayed a little longer to enjoy what was left in our plates. the server came over and saw me close the black folder that had the bill in which I already paid for and told me the "tip is not included in the bill" well DUH I know that. just cause I haven't left a tip yet, by the way we were still eating. he hanged around our table and watched us. then he came over to pour more water in our glasses and flip open the black folder which was still on our table and walked 10 feet away to watch us eat. I was shocked! I always leave a tip everywhere I eat. but I have never had this type of treatment before. I wont eat there again. very RUDE!

Yay for Bamboo Garden!

I agree that there are some selections that aren't especially tasty (I know it's tempting, but the fake salmon is GROSS!), so here are my recommendations after several years as a regular: *Corn chowder *Potstickers *Spring rolls *Five spicy treasure *Ruby princess *Madarin chicken *Kung pao chicken *#96 (can't recall the exact name, but is Japanese udon noodles in with chicken/veggies in spicy sauce)

Got very very sick

I went there once about ten years ago and liked it, but on a return trip a few months ago I had my worst restaurant experience ever. It all tasted like shit, and I was up puking all night. I was there with three other people - one of them was sick, too, and we all hated the food.

Never had a bad meal there

Everytime I go to Bamboo Garden I get pleasantly surprised. #1 very friendly employees/service #2 HUGE selection to choose from #3 I bring many "meat eaters" there who now can't stay away from the place. It's THAT good. The only thing they have that is NOT vegan are the fortune cookies, which you can munch on the orange slices instead for dessert. Best dishes I have had so far are Mandarin Chicken, Almond Chicken, Hot Almond Pudding and the General Tso's Chicken. The only thing I wish is that they were 24 hours so I could always satisfy my cravings!

Not so awesome

I really wish Bamboo Garden was better, but I can't seem to get behind deep fried chicken analogues drenched in sticky, over-sweet sauces. If I want vegetarian Chinese, I like to stick with Teapot or Vegetarian Bistro. The writer is a staff member of The Stranger

Delicious, but not for all

I love Bamboo Garden. Aside from the beef dishes (which have a weird texture), everything I've tried has been great (the corn chowder is divine). However, a few of my friends always get bad stomach aches after eating there (must be something they cook with), although I've never had a problem.

Huge Menu, All Vegan

I thank my lucky stars that this place exists. As a vegan, this is THE place to go when feeding your family/non-vegan friends. The menu is huge. The staff is quick.

Best vegetarian food in Seattle

I've been going there for years. The mandarin chicken is good enough to heal the world, although vegetable treasure in pearly pond is currently my favorite dish. The staff are always nice and I don't think there's anything on their huge menu I've tried that I didn't like. I'm surprised by the review by "Red Roxy" because that's the first time I've heard of anybody eating at Bamboo Garden and not loving it. I have three generations of family addicted to the place, as well as many co-workers, most of them not fans of vegetarian food.

Delicious Fuel

Their house fried rice is a most healthy, hearty and savory fuel for those of you other weekend warriors who need more than fruit for breakfast, and to whom eating another power bar is an unswerving trip to the tear ducts. Hurrah!

Yummy!

The chicken dishes are superb. The hot pots are the best comfort food there is. While I'm not a fan of the "beef" or "fish" dishes, you can't go wrong with the tofu or chicken. Bamboo Garden rocks.

Worst meal of my life

Christmas Eve. My vegetarian friend tells me this place is great. "Great." Wrong vegetarian friend, WRONG! The food was revolting. Pretend chicken. Pretend beef. Greasy, bland, bloated food. I staggered out of there feeling bludgeoned.
