Excellent for a meal dinner, sometimes annoying for late nights

I really love this place, and all the pies I've had have been good-to-great. Friendly service, good food, good beer selection, and a nice atmosphere.

Tips for an optimal pie experience:
-I have a small-to-normal appetite, so a savory pie is pretty much a perfect dinner for me. If you're really hungry or a big eater, get it as a float (with their tasty soup), a la mode (topped with mashed taters) or with sweet potato fries on the side.
-Go earlier in the day, for lunch or dinner. They have more of the pies available, the pies are fresher, and there are fewer drunk people swarming the pool table.

It's pretty much my platonic ideal of a pub during the daylight and early evening hours - great for catching up with friends over a pint or three and enjoying a good dinner.
Weekend nights, though, they start to run out of pies and desserts, and the loud drunks start to converge on the pool table, not to mention the difficulty of getting a table or having a conversation. None of this is really their fault, just a factor of being a good pub that's open late.

My favorite bar

This place is great! The best food that you can get late night! The bartenders Mon - Sat are so great, very friendly... The one on Sunday perhaps doesn't like me and the people I've been there with or is just not friendly like the rest of the staff. That is my only complaint and even with that it gets 5. great food and drinks comfortable and fun setting super nice (for the most part) staff! what more could you ask for?

People must be drunk and not really care about what they're eating

I love the concept and I wanted to love the place. I went a few times and never had a better then average experience.
Good things-Well they have a nice selection of pies, especially vegetarian ones. Good beers. The service (sometimes) Nice atmosphere with good people working and going there.
Bad- Pies are too small and pretty much just okay
Service- I've been ignored for long stretches
No dessert pies - Okay, I get that it's not their thing but would it kill them to make one fruit pie or choc pudding pie. I would actually give them 2.5 stars but I feel like I need to balance out all over-reaching reviews

Our new hangout of choice

Pies & Pints is a convergence of many factors that make for a good bar: tasty food, good beers and mixed drinks, comfy seating, a pool table, and a cozy atmosphere. It's a good place to be whether you're catching up with a group of friends or catching up on your book.

Food: The meat pies are generally excellent, and there's a rotating pie of the day. There are good vegetarian pies as well, and you can get any of them with a salad or fries for not much more. The sweet potato fries are very good and also very filling.

Drinks: The bar has a good selection of beers including the Trumer Pils. There is also a pretty creative menu of mixed drinks.

Service: A little slow sometimes, generally pretty good. Helpful wait staff.

Entertainments: Unlike most bars down on the Ave, the pool table here is not always occupied by popped-collar douchebags. Some nights the bartender plays movies up on the TV in the back. Sunday evenings a bluegrass band plays in the front.

This Place is Amazing

Given that Dante's has gone downhill somewhat and Die Bierstube is always way too crowded nowadays, my roommate and I have been to this place quite a few times. Frankly, we're puzzled as to why we didn't start going there earlier. I could probably write a novel on what I love about this place, but here's the short list: -21+ bar in back, but the front is open to all -$3 Session stubbies! -GREAT food, lots of it vegetarian. The sweet potato fries will make you want to give regular fries Viagra. They're that good. -Late night food specials: $4 for a plate of hummus and pita bread that'll easily feed two -Within safe stumbling home range (your mileage may vary)

Hearty food/Best Cosmos I've ever had

Good place to hang out, nice and dark. Pleasant service with good hearty pub food that's a little more interesting than your average fare. The spinach feta pie is comfy--small but mighty, very filling. The fries are lovely and plentiful. The split pea soup is yummy. Their cosmos are like liquid candy. The only downside is the occasional noisy small child.

Overrated

I thought the idea was great, but the pie I got was average at best, somewhat small, and really expensive. One pie is hardly enough to fill you up, and with it's $8 price, it takes 2 for a meal. Not to mention their $4.50 microbrews. If the pies were bigger, then it might be worth it...

Not my piece of pie

Their pies are good-sized and don't skimp on filling, but I've always found them kind of bland. I'll chalk that down to a matter of taste, though, and on another matter of taste, their sweet potato fries, if they still have them, are fucking fantastic. Their bar is not, though. I recommend you stick with beer.

This place kicks pie!

PNP is a refreshing glimmer of greatness in the Ravenna neighborhood. A small storefront vibe with fold-out windows in the dining area. The small seating area just inside the windows leads up a narrow path parallel the kitchen leading you back to the low-lit bar area. The seating and space is minimal in the bar section with a pool table placed in the center of it all. The beer on tap is average for the Seattle area. A good selection across the beer board and cocktails made with fresh squeezed juice! That should be standard in the bar scene and makes this place unique. The food is what you expect in a bar: heavy, tasty, and cheap. The portions are all acceptable. The Irish Nachos are one of my favorites and are available for a discount in their 2 happy hours. French fries stacked high snmothered in their house made beer cheese sauce with jalapenoes, tomatoes, black olives, and green onions. The happy hour specials are great for food, ok for drinks. one thing is certain, P-N-P knows how to make you keep drinking. Their pies are savory, as advertised! I love the curry and spinach and feta pies. I recommend dousing your pie in beer cheese sauce for the ultimate gluttonous delight. This is just a fine place to go after work or late at night to have a drink and some good food that's definitley not going to take OFF any pounds. Oh yeah...the pool is free! YES!

Eh, won't be back

The bartender pitched a glass of beer over himself (a bit) and me (thoroughly). He looked at us both, laughed, and ran off to clean himself up and never offered me a napkin or apology. Kind of ruined the place for me.

Beer. Cheese. Sauce.

Whatever pie you get, get it with the cheese sauce. I'm salivating just thinking about it. The split pea soup is vegan and simply amazing. Favorite pie: the mediterranean.

Pies & Pints is one of my favorite places in Seattle! Weather you're looking for a fun place to eat, drink, and play pool or just somewhere to get some really good grub at 1am, this is the place. The pies are amazing and the atmosphere is very inviting. I highly recommend it!

Something for everyone!!!!!

Ummmmm... you can really tell some one put their heart and soul into this place. The pies are fresh and there are some exciting daily specials, some I keep waiting for them to repeat. The philly cheesesteak pie for example was a good surprise and daring attempt. I sure do love sliding into one of those boths with my friends and snacking on the mini reubans with a delicous cold pint ( rockin happy hour menu), sometimes I even have one of their salads. There seems to something for everyone and the ingredients are fresh, those 2 things are big in my book. A great place for friends, including the ones with kids.

Pie, Pie, everywhere a Pie

Pies and Pints is my favorite Roosevelt neighborhood place to be!! Not only are the pies terrific (the vegetarian pies are awesome...even if you are a carnivore), but the beer, wine and cocktails are top notch as well. The juices are fresh squeezed (big plus in my book), the service is always great, and their Happy Hour rocks! (Late night happy hour starts every day at 9:30) Kudos to Pies and Pints!

That's Good Pie

Who knew pot pies could be addictive? The Indian Curry is my personal favorite, and I enjoy it "Pie Float" style (floating in pea soup), or topped with yummy beer cheese sauce and a side of fries. The staff and atmosphere are wonderful - cozy, warm, and friendly. With the beer selection and great fresh squeezed cocktails, this is one of my favorite hangouts.

Pies & Happy Hour

The late night happy hour is also great here. They offer a nice happy hour menu featuring $2.95 & $3.95 items such as rueben rolls, mini Irish nachos (my fav), sweet potato fries, etc. (too much stuff to list here), $2 PBR pints, and daily drink specials (Manhattan Monday) starting at 9:30. Their full menu is always available as well. Oh, and desserts – did I mention the Chocolate Guinness Cake? – just heaven.

pies pints = awesome

The name of the restaurant really says it all. The savory pies, both veggie and meat-atarian, are delicious and comforting, the perfect food for Seattle winters. (Of course, they're not bad in summer, either.) Try the Irish nachos. You won't be sorry.

Nice idea, execution needs work

I like the idea of getting little pot pies with beer, but my pie smelled a bit... bleh, a faint hint of shoes. Obviously it didn't smell THAT terrible, because I ate it and it was alright, but if these are made from scratch, the joint may want to work out its storage and preparation methods, or at least use some fresher ingredients. Nice beer selection, though.
