Bland, Mundane Ethiopian Food

I tried this place a couple months ago, soley for the fact that I was in the area (it's the only Ethiopian place I know of on Cap Hill). I got the veggie combo, which was prepared with little or no spice; not terrible, but simply bland.

As we all know, injera is at last as important as the individual portions, and unfortunately the injera was even duller than the they were; it was white almost to the point of being pasty, and had almost no flavor at all. Even though it's the African place in the area - skip it!

YE HAW!

I've eaten a ton of Ethiopian food from many different places in Seattle and NYC. This place is yummy, convenient and they have soft bread and good spices. order a combo- meat or veggie, order some honey wine or an Ethiopian beer and eat with your fingers. I now live in Brooklyn NYC- and regularly think about this restaurant. Relax and go on a weekday if you want to avoid the crowds. This will be a first spot to visit when I am home.

Not that great....

I know you're excited because you think you discovered some new kind of food. You must feel like Christopher Colombus, or Capt. Kirk or something....Really though, know what it is supposed to taste like before you write a review of it...Sheba is just not that good when it comes to Ethiopian food. Also, their service is bad. If you go on a Friday or Saturday night and they are slightly busy they will ignore you until you go away. Head down Cherry street if you want good ethiopian. There are about 6 different options, all of which are better.

Down with the Queen!

This place is so damn good it will keep you coming back for more and more. It is indeed addictive, I crave it regularly. Anyone who cant enjoy this place is crazy. Good service, good food, good place to grub. Its no wonder the place is packed out the door every night. Could all those people be wrong? I don't think so.

Terrible!

The food was extremely bland and the portions tiny. I met friends here since it was on my way home from work and the convenience was SO not worth it for the food. I then had to bring my friends to Meskel so they could see what ethiopian SHOULD taste like.

ADDICTIVE!

I had never tried Ethiopian food before this place and after the first time I was addicted! They have a veggie platter that is served on this sponge bread that is only around $13. A spicy wonderland for your taste buds! It is enough to feed two people. I go about 3 times a month now. Everything is served fresh, so there is always a little bit of a wait, but it is worth it. Oh, and don't even get me starte don the honey wine!

tasty and cheap

The service is a little slow, but otherwise this place rules. Split a veggie platter with someone you don't hate, and enjoy.

Best f**king food!

This food is damn good! I was a little skeptical to eat this fare at first, but after one bite, I was in heaven!
