Restaurant Details

  • OPH pancakes are actually kind of feisty, with a strutting, toothsome texture that holds up under an accidental overdose of maple syrup. (Their bubbly structure owes something to the fact that many offerings are yeast-raised rather than baking soda- or powder-leavened like most pancakes.)
  • Features: Breakfast/Brunch, Cheap Eats and Family Friendly
  • Cuisine: Bakery and Diner
  • Serving Hours: Mon-Fri 6:30 am-2:30 pm, Sat-Sun 7 am-3 pm.
  • Price Range: $

what the heck is sour starter

A friend and I recently visited the establishment. We found the food to be disgusting along with the service. The prices themselves were another shocker. The pancakes are dispicable. We complained and still had to pay for uneaten pancakes. The server even stated that the cook put to much sour starter in the batter. What the heck is sour starter? It's disgusting, we will never eat there again and because of the drama they are being reported.

Dutch, baby!

I saw a segment on the food network concerning the Original Pancake House, so of course my interest was perked. After prodding my partner, we soon made the not so far trek. Then entire time I knew it had to be the Dutch Baby. And let me tell you, it was awesome. Served with whipped butter, powdered sugar and lemon wedges it was delightful. It managed to toe the line between filling without being leaden. It also pair magnificently with maple syrup and I would imagine fruit as well. Super yummy! I highly recommend trying it. :D

Great Breakfast and fast

I just ate at the OPH today and it was very busy, but I had outstanding service and great food. It's just traditional breakfast food nothing fancy but sometimes you just want the standard breakfast fare. You can't go wrong here.

Worst Breakfast In Seattle

What would make you say that it was the worst breakfast in Seattle? My husbands food: Getting what was essentially a hard boiled egg on top of both halves of his Benedict. My food: Labeling the crepes as crepes when they are clearly omelets, motherf***ing disgusting omelets. Both, completely unforgivable.

stuffed

A rare chain that does what it does simply and well for little money. The $10 omelettes feed three people, and come with sides of pancakes and potatoes.

It was love at first bite.

I grew up in a small town full of pancake houses that served massive portions of good hearty food for at reasonable prices. Since I've lived in Seattle, I've never experienced that small town, home cooked feel until I discovered this place. When we had out of town guests, we all went here for brunch. There was a 20 minute wait, but they have a nice waiting area with free coffee and benches. It was totally worth the wait. The food was spot on and the prices were incredible the staff were super sweet. After feeding five people, stuffed to the gills we got a check for $40. We were convinced it was a mistake, but it wasn't. Great food, value, homey small town feeling (in the good way), this place is the whole package.
