There are several flavors to choose from, including lamb-and-onion piroshki (irresistible); a ham, cheese, and spinach version (very meaty); a potato, onion, and mushroom (hearty, with a trace of dill). Try the pelmeni (dumplings), and the salmon pâté in puff pastry, and the split pea soup with big chunks of ham. The borscht is brothy with shreds of beet and carrot, earthy, cabbagy, and slightly sweet--instead of the creamy magenta goo that often passes for borscht.

Solid and tasty

I'm not saying this is the BEST pastry, because some foodie might flame me for saying so. But it's really, really damn good. I'm a regular. Fluffy dough with a bagel-esque outside, and tons of yummy fillings.

Food was o.k., but if you do not double check, they charge your credit card with the amount EUR adding a juicy 3.65% bonus for them. Never had that anywhere before. So better pay cash or check your receipt. I did not.

Delicious

This is my favorite place for a cheap nosh in the Market. Be careful not to burn your mouth on those suckers!
