While Norm’s is famous locally for a number of reasons—packed Thursday trivia nights, mind-controlling house-made potato chips, 40-ounce PBRs (formerly served in paper bags, now in little insulated jackets with the Norm’s insignia on them)—the raison d’être is clearly canine. A statue of a dog wearing a scarf greets you at the door. More 3-D dog renderings sit and stay above the bar. There are photos of dogs, posters of dogs, dog-related inspirational placards (“My goal in life is to be as good a person as my dog thinks I am”), dogs painted on the walls above the red vinyl booths, and a sculpture of a metal dog playing golf. The pub-menu food is good. There are lots of dogs.

I never leave reviews on these sites, but Norms really exceeded my expectations! We had no idea what to expect from Norms since we'd never been to a dog-friendly joint before, and were absolutely delighted to see that it was super clean, with an atmosphere that is above the pub standard. Certainly not your average hole in the wall! Plus we love that most of the dog owners bring their pets around to visit. Such a friendly, fun place! And the pear and brie is to die for, and the happy hour prices aren't shabby at all. If I become a regular anywhere, it will probably be at Norms!

Norm's has by far the best food on Happy Hour that I have ever seen! Bacon wrapped shrimp, a huge plate of XXX hot wings and warm brie served with pear and bread slices! Pair this with a $3 40 oz. of PBR in a paper bag and you got yourself a cheap date!

My favorite Seattle bar

My husband and I visited Seattle from Cincinnati. Norm's came highly recommended, so we stopped in for some mac and cheese and 40 oz PBRs. The atmosphere was inviting, the food was yummy. Loved the selection of "comfort food". My husband appreciated the wide selection of beer on tap. The service was excellent, the staff fun and friendly, and if you get a chance to talk with Steve, the owner, he's hilarious. He makes you feel as if you're dining in his family room! Great group of folks, reasonable prices, generous portions, fun atmosphere. Oh, and "homage to me" . . . the only "crap" is what you're slinging. Get a personality - we won't miss you at Norm's!

All friendly and inviting

It has a great theme if you are a dog lover and a regular. The chips and fries had a bit too much pepper and the burger was greasier than I would like. It was my first time there so it could have been an off night. But in all honesty the food was so so but the environment was friendly and inviting.

Atmosphere counts

I'm afraid I just can't get beyond the dog theme. Remove most of the dog crap, get rid of those stupid cans of beer in a bag, then maybe the place will be more inviting.

Secret: their kitchen is spotless!

I had to deliver something there last weekend and saw their kitchen and walk-in fridge. I have never seen a cleaner workspace! Most of the time, you just don't want to see where food is prepared, but dang, this was a health inspector's dream-come-true.

Down to earth, with great food.

This is a great place to escape the typical Fremont F'Rat Race and enjoy a laid back meal. The service and food have been great every time and they have a generous selection of beers on tap.

Sure beats the Ballroom!

A relaxing place to have a beer or three. And your dog can kick it with you, too. Burgers, good pints and 40s of PBR - perfect. The house-made potato chips are novel but way too salty and there's only a (way too) huge size available.

Kitchy but nice

It's chill and what you see is what you get. My favorite part is the dog friendly, but all their food is good - traditional not-too-greasy bar food. And if you want PBR in a paper bag, heres the joint for you.
