Wonderful Experience

This was a great dining experience. The host made us feel welcome and sat us at one of the communal tables. We tried several small plates from the menu and I love the variety of vegetables be it beet salad or mushroom and squash ragout. Wine recommendation was spot on.

Ethereal

It's easy for me to get excited about food, so I practically cream my jeans at the thought of another meal at S&S. The food is wonderful, homemade, unpretentious, loads of umami to be found in an array of creative dishes. There's always a couple of ingredients featured that I've never heard of before, or things prepared in ways I'd never thought of. The best part is that for dinner you can order several small plates and try so many different things for the same price you'd pay for a single entree elsewhere. Also, heed their wine recommendations, they have never disappointed.

Way Good

Don't be scared away by the location, which is in a small strip mall just off Eastlake. Sitka Spruce boasts of one of the best menus for the price that you can get in Seattle. The seating's limited, so it pays to get in there a bit early, and in some cases, you may have to share a table with other people, which didn't bother me at all. The menu's meat centered so I wouldn't suggest bringing a vegan. The pork belly is definitely a must if it's available. We also were able to meet the chef that owns the restaurant (Matt Dillon), who seemed nice and was not pretentious at all.

Fantastic Restaurant

I was a visitor to Seattle for the summer. During my trip, my aunt retired, and Mr. Matt held her get together at his restaurant. The food was amazing, along with his personality and the setting.
