The Good and the Bad

The shakes are awesome. Many different choices, with some being seasonal. I never had a burger there, but the chicken sandwich is pretty boring.

Good old fashioned burger

This place makes great burgers 'n shakes. Hey I even like the fries. The menu has quite a few other things too but I never get past the burger. Scooters is on a par with Red Mill, altho it doesn't put the snappy sauces on their burgers like RM which is actually OK with me. And the place isn't as hyped so it's usually not crowded and you can get in 'n out much faster. Well it is crowded at lunch, I guess. It may not be worth crossing town for but if you're in Ballard or nearby it's your best bet when you need a burger.

Better than average but not nearly the best

I found it the burger and fries nearly indistinguishable from Kidd Valley, but their menu is twice as big and there is more room to tweak your order. I would probably eat there more often if I lived nearby, but it’s not worth going out of my way for.

THE BEST

I'll take Scooter's over Red Mill/Dick's (yuck) anytime! Fries could be better but if you're looking for a good burger I suggest you try Scooter's.

Nothing special

When you see this kind of burger "hut" you hope for the best because sometimes they are. In this case, not so much. It's good enough, but after the first time I just go for the higher end or straight to Dick's. They have onion rings though - that's a nice touch.
