continental restaurant

I have been a Continental fan and patron since it's inception. I pretty much worship their lunch/dinner menu. That being said, i had strayed away from the "original" Continental since the opening of Cont. Midtown. This weekend, we were really feeling a brunch escape and decided, though out of the way, to take it back to home base and check out the Continental in Old City for brunch.you can add restaurant ..thanks.............

Terrible Service

The service here is horrid. The waitress’s hair was in the water and after asking for a new glass she gave me quite the attitude. She dropped my fork and put it back on the table as if I was supposed to eat with it. After requesting new silverware she gave the same attitude while murmuring something under her breath. While serving the food she kept reaching across me leaving her armpits in my face. The waitress demanded to be tipped after I was finished with the meal and tried to give me grief about not doing so. Overall terrible experience and I will not be returning.

Good people

Yes, the owners do good here. They host many international language gatherings, which is very commendable. And don't forget about their little bakery section, which has excellent honey bars and interesting beer cookies.

Great place for breakfast

I come here frequently, and the food is always plentiful, the prices reasonable, and the Lagos family is always very friendly and helpful. Service is prompt and efficient. They don't just serve Greek specialties, but standard breakfast plates as well. I've never had a bad experience at Continental and highly recommend it whether you like Greek food or just want a place to get a decent breakfast and some coffee.

Magical: Cures Hangovers!

Get 'Helen's', which is scrambled eggs and tons of feta on a warm, thick pita round. Also, get some coffee. Opens very early and you'll see some of the Ave's humorously cantankerous old goats breaking their fast if you get here before 7am. The Greek fries are yummy too... Anything with feta is going to be good. And, this place is much cheaper than lame-o poseur Costa's, on the corner.
