Tucked away in the Fisherman's Terminal, just opposite of the Ballard Locks on the canal, Bay Cafe has some great views of the docks and water. It also has some pretty tasty food! I got the Seafood Omelet, a huge 3 egg omelet with bay shrimp, dungeness crab, and scallops along with green onions and cheddar cheese, hash browns and toast. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, soft inside--perfectly seasoned. The omelet was full of seafood and cheese and delicious! My boyfriend had a special of a day, the Oyster Benedict. I had a few bites and it was good (I'm not a fan of oysters, so it's hard for me to compare). The biscuits and gravy were sweet and creamy, different than the spicy midwest style that I'm used to. The service was great. Our server was joking around with us and the food came out pretty fast for a 1PM on a Saturday. The only things that were a little weird: you pay at the counter, but the line to pay blocks the entrance to the restrooms and forces you to stand right up against the counter where other folks are eating. Also, the place looks a lot like the interior of someone's houseboat with framed Norman Rockwell prints and a light blue, teal, purple and white theme. It feels comfortable though even if it is a cliche. I recommend Bay Cafe. (PS: Next time I'm getting a milkshake! They looked damn good!)
