In a year when Stranger Genius winners SuttonBeresCuller have been locked in bureaucratic disputes and endless hours of construction on public projects, this gallery show demonstrates they're still devoted to their collaborative studio work. These pieces aren't performances or installations, as they've made in the past, but instead straight-up sculptures—often devoted to the feeling of being exhausted with the difficult business of being artists. The irony is that the show is so labor-intensive. The White Cube room has been transformed into the Bronze Gallery, full of meticulously cast bronzes. This is a show about the fact that having a sense of humor doesn't mean not doing the work.
Opening: Reception Thurs Nov 5, 6-9 pm.
