with all the hype - it should be shared that they use a mix that contains corn syrup. boo!

The flavors are really strange... ice cream with curry in it, beet sorbet? I'd really like some well made flavors like the Dulce de leche and Tramonta flavors I recently had in Argentina. The Argentine ice cream blew Molly Moon's efforts away. The service is way too slow. It's so annoying waiting for Bono wanna-bes and goateed idiots sampling every freaking flavor. Give us a break, does anyone really want beet sorbet?

Not all it's cracked up to be

With all the hype I thought this would be the best ice cream I would ever taste and well, I LOVE ice cream, so I was excited. Unfortunately, it was not. The chocolate was too salty. I've never tasted a chocolate ice cream I didn't like, so this was a first. I would not get it again. The customer service could use some improvement too. Be polite, remember we are the customers and without us, you wouldn't be in business. I didn't like feeling rushed through the line after waiting 20 minutes just to order. Unfortunately I won't return. It wasn't worth the wait and I have had better ice cream else where.

Overhyped!!!

Went to the "great" Molly Moons this past Saturday and was NOT impressed. I didn't mind waiting in line for 25 minutes at 10pm to get ice cream. That wasn't my problem, it was the ice cream. I got a banana split that was "filled" a very very sad amount of ice cream. The 3 tiny scoops of mediocre ice cream were topped with decent toppings but the whipping cream deflated within 10 seconds and made my bowl full of a limp white cream. I had the scout mint, strawberry and salted caramel and none of them impressed me. The salted caramel was 99% salt and 1% caramel. By the name, you would like to think that you would be getting a nice salty sweet combo. However, if you are looking for that delightful combo, look elsewhere. The strawberry was ok and the scout mint was fine. My wife did have a scoop of walnut that was pretty good but not worth waiting in line for 25 minutes for. Especially since it is just ice cream!!!! I can go to 6 places within a 10-minute drive that sell the same good. I will give them props for being open until 11pm. Too many places in the city and surrounding areas seem to close at 9pm so that was nice.

My new obsession!

5 stars!!! During a trip to Seattle to visit our son, he took me to Molly Moon's and there I encountered the best ice cream taste of my life! I dream of the salted caramel taste and am planning my next trip to Seattle around making it over to Wallingford to Molly Moon's! Thank you for the fun!

Delicious

Molly Moon's is like a walk through memory lane for my tastebuds, only better because the ice cream of my childhood was almost inevitably too sweet and the cones were never filled properly. This place is good. It has all the basics (chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, coffee), a couple flavors for the kids, and some seasonal varieties that thoughtfully balance sweet with salty. The staff's been friendly every time I've come in, the prices are comparable to any other ice cream shop I know, and the space is nice, and the ice cream is better than anything I've had in a long time. I strongly recommend the cardamom. My only issue with this place is the line that occasionally goes out the door-- but I guess I can't begrudge it that.

Oh my ice cream!

Since I moved to Seattle three years, my biggest complaint about the city has been the lack of good, homemade ice cream. Molly Moon's has fixed that, and fixed it good! Reminiscent of some of my Boston faves like Toscanini's and Christina's, Molly Moon's is first and foremost excellent ice cream. It's made on the premises, with local, organic ingredients. It's not the cheapest out there, but it's worth it. Definitely get the salted caramel, but try pairing it with something like the vanilla - it's a little overwhelming on its own. And the honey lavender, scout mint, and coffee are all good, too. I personally would like their fruit flavors a little stronger (the lemon could be lemonier, the strawberry strawberrier, etc.), but that's certainly not enough to deter me from going back often. Nice folks working behind the counter, great ice cream, biodegradable spoons & bowls, and they're open late in a neighborhood that needed a late night spot. What more could you want?
