Do not mistake organic for low-fat: The food is drunk with quintessential flavors, lushness, comfort, delight. At worst, what you'll eat here is merely good; at best, it might make you a little teary.

Uneven food, abyssmal service

I've been three times. The service was not good the first time, but not bad enough that we couldn't smile and laugh about it. The second time I went I brought my visiting mother and was horrified by how bad it was. It was brunch and although only three tables were filled (it was late in the service) our coffee and water was never refilled, our waitress was rude and not particularly knowledgeable and the food was really uneven: the pulled chicken and biscuit was amazing, but the truffled egg I got was essentially inedible because of the amount of truffle oil poured on it -- a weird problem since the stuff is so expensive. It's one of the only two times in my life I haven't left a tip.

I went a third time by myself maybe 8 months ago and sat on their porch -- I had one server (a man) who was really kind and come out twice to refill my coffee mug. I got the pulled chicken (delicious) but still ended up owing over $20 without even getting an alcoholic beverage.

I think it's nice in theory with some standout items (the duck burgers) but horribly overrated in practice.

Awesome

I have been to many Seattle restaurants and I don't like many. And those that I do like I get bored of after the fourth time. I never wanted to go to Tilth because I didn't like the name (it makes me think of MILTF). Anyway, it was the bomb. Every dish was fantastic. Go there. Duck Burgers.

This place is off the chain. I'm not fancy, but i definately didn't want to eat the day after i first tried this place, for my fear that anything I tasted wouln't compare to the food @ Tilth. Yo yo yo, Beardy, KC, K-jO, wad up!? BTW, Q-Tizzle, you did work, son!

OMG Duck Burgers

My fiance and I went here on our engagement dinner for two. We ordered six small plates and split them. Everything was delicious, if terribly expensive, but the duck burgers made me slump over in my chair, rest my head against the wall and moan like my fiance was fellating me. The Blood Orange Creme Brulee was equally moan inducing and we left stuffed and very content. The server was very nice and was chatty without being obtrusive. She offered several times to find out more information from the kitchen in order to fully answer a question or two from me but she never did. It was odd but not annoying since I didn't ask her to do it. We dropped over a hundred and twenty bucks, thankfully someone else's (thanks in-laws), so that means that this place will mostly be relegated to when other people are picking up the tab. We will be coming back to try the brunch though.

Definitiely Not Worth the Price or Wait

I sampled this place in March of last year, shortly after it opened. The salad was wholesome, but that is where the good things end. The service was slow even though it was not remotely crowded. The food was hardly delicious and neither was the dessert. I recommend it for anyone who has $50 to blow on organic (but mediocre) food.

Outstanding!

Fantastic service, great menu and wine list and wonderful food. We had lots of fun and shared all the plates to try it all. Here's wishing you a successful business venture!

A bit precious but very good.

The quality of the food is quite high. The corn turrine was outstanding, the hangar steak and polenta was perfect. The pasta wasn't great. The place's vibe is a little precious. It's a little heavy on the Apollonian and a little light on the dyonesian. FYI This review was written by a non-editorial staff member of The Stranger.

my new favorite restaurant in seattle

the last time I experienced such richly diverse concoctions, such thoughtfully decadent flavors and textures, and such care and attention to detail and presentation was at holiday dinner in my mother's living room. and while it wasn't a holiday when I visited tilth, it sure felt like home. the restaurant is on the renovated first floor of a beautiful house and the staff treat you like family. the food is so absurdly wonderful that I didn't even feel guilty about spending $120 on 3 courses for two people (drinks, soup, entrees, desserts). Tilth is fine dining with all the touches that make a good meal great and a great meal perfect.

Best brunch in Seattle?

Humpty, below, has it right. This place is a well kept brunch secret. Four of us tried it one day. Only one in our group had been to Tilth before, for dinner. We were all blown away. Everything was excellent. Grape fruit sections "carmelized" with brown sugar; daily muffins hot from the over; Croque Monsieur sandwich (declared "better than the one I had in France by our foodie friend); eggs scrambled with truffle oil; and amazing little duck burgers with house made ketchup and mustard. Great coffee, fresh juices, simply perfect. That first brunch was greatly enhanced by a superb waitress. Sadly on two return brunches since then the staff has been less competent. But go anyway, because really this might be the best brunch in the city.

Wow, amazing brunch....

Who knew? They serve brunch here & it's amazing! I was skeptical when a friend wanted to meet here, I thought oh it's going to be super expensive, there's going to be a huge wait for a table, but I was totally wrong. We were one of two tables (I don't think people know they serve brunch?) and the food was fantastic. I had french toast (Essential Baking Co. bread w/Grand Marinier & orange zest) it was perfect. My friend had some sort of baby squash/gruyere/herb egg dish that was to die for. Great service, reasonably priced ($9-$14) & if it's sunny you can sit on the front patio. Lovely!
