I haven't read her books and now I know I don't need to. How can so much of someone's brain be taken up with the attendant trivia of "being a writer?" Your MFA program, the other MFA students and teachers you know, the other Granta suck-ups you know, your writers' block ... that shit is deeply not interesting. At all.

dtmfa. not even close. he interpreted "making out" to mean "fucking," then he interpreted "no" to mean "yes," then he blamed you for being upset over it? sounds like a boundary-pushing douche.

commented on Feds: No Need For ENDA—Workplace Discrimination Against LGBT People Illegal Already
@1 most states are employment-at-will, meaning that employers can hire/fire for any reason as long as it's not specifically protected (discrimination against a protected class, medical status, retaliation, etc).
Not having clear lines makes it hard for employers to fire bad employees for fear of lawsuits and hard for victims of discrimination to get representation because every case is a potential loser.

If only there were an army of this guy to teach drivers how threatening it is to have a car honk at you when you are on foot.
Horns are built to be audible from inside another car. They are uncomfortably loud otherwise. Honking at pedestrians, bikes or skateboarders = risk of causing an accident. Pepper spray in your face.
