I don't know that there is anything out there that matches Twitter for the type of news I want to be aware of. I really think the quality of Twitter is entirely dependent on the people/groups you follow. Same with my RSS feed. I've curated the type of content I want to see. My mother and I always joke about her internet and my internet because we are exposed to radically different things.

I had to defend I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings to the school board in ninth grade because a parent complained about the book. The teacher who taught it left that year so it became a moot point, but I'd like to think they would have let her keep teaching the book based on her students stellar oratory skills.

Just had a burger at the Herfys in Redmond this weekend. Single burger with cheese and grilled onions. Correct proportion of all elements. Fries were average, but burger was A+.
