Yeah, it's a copy of that.

I wonder if LW2 is bored with routine or feels she is SUPPOSED to want to mix things up. Some people just dont have kinks. If she and her partner have come this far, so to speak, without a kink rising up out of their own open minds and private/shared porn sessions or past experiences, searching in the dark for a kink that they both end up liking might not ever get either of them to a new place. I commend the initiative, but dont worry too much about a problem that isnt

What #1 said. Brilliant.

"Who wants to sit around being awkwardly civil with people who don’t accept you because they love their unseen god more than their children?"

One of the many pearls in this response. I usually don't like it when Dan turns his column and podcast over to guests, because they are often a letdown compared to Dan, but this letter from Aaron was just wonderful

"..while physical beauty inevitably fades, assholery enabled by beauty inevitably turns to rage."

That's nearly Shakespearean. Well done, Mr. Savage

I don't think POPDAQ proposing to her bf is any solution. At this point she basically has. After talking about this for almost a year, they both know she wants to get married, and they both know he is ambivalent. Asking him would be equivalent to forcing a decision to commit or break up NOW, which she might or might not be ready for.

The LW seems to think that sex work is her only alternative to augment her salary. How about a different night job or exploring what she can do to advance in her current career? If the bf has issues with her one narrowly minded solution, perhaps she needs to think outside her box.

But what about the part where the LW says this guest always uses HIS bathroom and not his partner's? That goes against the rando pube shedding theory. This is personal.

This is perfect. I am a contractor for the DoD and just TODAY I put together a report that is to go to leadership next week at a two-day summit on sexual assault in the military about gaps in service for these victims/survivors. My main point is the DoD has increased exponentially its "prevention" efforts and sexual assaults are staying the same in some segments of the military and its academies and rising in others. Applying the wrong prevention efforts with the wrong commanders in the wrong setting to guys not ready to hear it yet? A waste of taxpayer dollars. I need to add this letter to the read-aheads for the summit.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar didn't boycott the 1968 Olympic games. Lew Alcindor did. Just being fussy here.

The fact that TURISTA is getting some sympathy in the comments section affirms my belief that Dan was way harsh. She did not indicate that she wanted a relationship with this guy. She was hoping that taking a risk on a sexual adventure would not feel so sleazy afterwards. Her fantasy of a one-night stand in Costa Rica might have included falling asleep next to the guy, having a cup of shitty coffee in his barely clean kitchen in the morning while purring a couple of, "if only"s to each other that you both know neither of you mean to make the whole encounter a nice memory rather than what it was. How hard is that, dude?
