Well no, this study doesn't prove that. It is a really neat study and I am glad you posted it. There are vanishingly few gun studies that bother to use decent methodology. More would have to be done along this line to be at all conclusive but it is an interesting start. For one thing you'd need to try it with something other than screens to avoid the association with video games where one is allowed to shoot people. Maybe cardboard cutouts...hmm. Fascinating thing to start a line of inquiry with, they just need to refine it.
I would love to see some real research on usefulness vs danger of guns carried and at home with training and when you don't leave them lying around so that people get hurt by accident. I never see anything that isn't designed to prove something, I want to see what one would find if someone wanted to actually know. Like real science.

@25 Not foolproof. I am in my forties and have a hard time taking the idea seriously that guys aren't old enough for me after a couple of combat tours. I know someone 20 years younger who has done 2 in Iraq and 2 in 'Stan. It isn't like doing some high school kid.

Being in danger of being shot by criminals makes you more likely to see other objects as a gun. If you are a cop an object might *be* a gun. Not terribly likely in civilian life.
Stand your ground should never include giving chase, anyone who pursues should go down for murder because that is no longer self defense. Not having to run away makes sense but the other guy should be allowed to end the conflict at any time.

@ 198 and 240 There is nothing wrong with being sure of herself before she commits to her girlfriend. Not enjoying their time together doesn't make her immature, these things happen. Some minor things are deal breakers and some aren't, it depends on the person.

If you aren't enjoying her company it is probably time to break up. I don't think that either you are shallow or that you should just stay.
Have these things always bothered you this much? It seems like either you are just incompatible or you are getting irritated because something emotional is wrong between you. If the irritation is a new thing you might want to look at what else is going on.
