Maybe if these 18-year-old psychopaths were forced to face the consequences of their monstrosity, they would at least be less smug in their celebration of human torture. I don't care what happens to these "boys". They have forfeited all sympathy. My concern is entirely on the girl whose life they marred. Try them as adults, and let them pay the price. They are people, not hamsters, and they knew what they were doing. They just didn't care.

Good point, @23. Imagine if we got as collectively hysterical over "car control" as some of us do over "gun control". No brakes! No steering! Don't violate my right to drive a semi truck through a school zone at 60 mph! And by the way, School Zone?? That's like an invitation to fast, reckless, drunken driving! We need more fast, reckless, sober drivers to counteract the drunk ones!

@#18, I wasn't suggesting how you dress or act were contributing factors. I was referring to personal safety - the whole walking alone in a bad neighborhood argument. Obviously that doesn't apply if a woman is attacked in her own home, or by an acquaintance she trusted, but it doesn't mean it's bad advice.
