Whiteness, especially when considering people who may not be "purely" white, also encompasses their relationship to authority. Has this person of questionable whiteness submitted to the strictures of whiteness? That's part of why you see the handful of prominent black Republicans championed as they are. It's what makes a biracial but visually Hispanic Zimmerman "one of us".
Racism isn't just racial, there's an inherent power dynamic to it. In certain cases, those who would otherwise be outside the racial identity can find inclusion through submission to group identity and authority.

If the content were always on cute and boring subjects, it would be easy to avoid that language. But when we have to talk about pieces of shit like Rodney Tom dicking over the entire state for his self-gratification; or assholes finding new and creative ways to suppress the rights of others they don't like; or ... yeah, harsh language doesn't begin to appropriately convey the emotion. To pretend these things deserve dispassionate decorum is asking for something that's simply not genuine.

We can't make that decision if it's all secret.
I know others have said it, but this deserves repeating. There is no need to keep secret the fact that this stuff happens. Secrecy only guarantees that we never get to make that decision and that there will never be accountability for the programs. It does not "damage national security" to talk about this. Let them keep some details obscured to prevent countermeasures being developed - that's reasonable. But the program's existence, its goals and its broad means does not need to be secret.
