RIP Greg Lake. Thank you for burning your candle so brightly for all of us.

@6 Are you really going to make go digging in boxes to find my high school notebooks to get the precise quote? Rereading my phrasing, it was probably something closer to "prevent someone like a...", but in any case the point about a TV personality/celebrity has always stuck in my head. I do recall a long-ish discussion of Hamilton and his motives as well.

Way back in 9th grade civics lessons, we were lectured that the Electoral College was put in as a stopgap by the Fathers to "ensure that Mickey Mouse or a television celebrity would not be elected to the White House." Interesting Huffer link Dan.

@5 Super high continued doses of testosterone without compensating hormones to balance things out can result in ball shrinkage, but dick size pretty much stays the same. He might have tried other things to give the illusion of a very small flaccid state however. Note she says that "he tried to send pics," so it's unclear if he was successful on his quest. In any case, you have a good point that for an extra creepy douche-bag, lots of extra medically unsupervised test is going to result in someone extra extra creepy and super duper douchey. I vote for telling him to fuck off and breaking off contact.

Get a toy, a therapist, and hang out with friends. You make time for the kid and not him. Separate sleeping areas. Best of luck, (and luck is made more often than not by *your* effort).

Throwing this out there before it slithers down into the pond... Would the US be better served by some sort of parliamentary system? Both extremes would be heard and have their own voice, although perhaps not so much made into law/policy. The vast most of the rest of us would find whatever worked in the middle-ish. It seems from the outside at least to be a better model in a more and more crowded and different world.

+1 for credit unions, although not all are created equal. Some are almost as shitty as big banks. However, since they pretty much all pride themselves on low rates and non penalties, if one doesn't treat you right, just take your money out and put it in a different one. The better ones will also give you bonuses for transferring mortgages, car loans, etc. Problem solved.

Angry beer-bellied mob: "Nous voulons du pain! Nous voulons du pain! Nous voulons du pain!" (We want bread!)

HRC: "Um, you could call Dominos for some sticks and sauce, really not my fave though... maybe try the food trucks around the corner? The fresh guac at the Mexi-fusion one is pretty spectacular, if you ask me..."

My husband and I feel vasty underrepresented on TV. Yes we are employed white guys with a house, a semi-reliable stylist, and orthodontic co-pays, but abs only seem to be possible a few months out the year. At most.

PS congrats to Ru, well deserved.

Chicken Little dance anyone?

Now that's out of the way, trying to send good vibes to our Kiwi peeps, looks like it was fairly remote unlike the one that hit Christchurch a few years ago.
