They really need to start challenging the "kids do best with a mom and a dad" boiler plate talking point that Republicans always talk about, because that talking point is created from comparing metrics of families with a single parent to metrics of families with two parents. Kids of unmarried parents who live together in long term relationships and kids of gay couples are almost indistinguishable in terms of educational performance, happiness etc, in every credible study that has been conducted by neutral third parties.

Wouldn't care if the law applied to crossing the street while walking, but if they are talking about ticketing people on the sidewalk, that's kind of absurd.

I think the criticisms about Black Widow being token are a little silly to direct at Joss Whedon, a guy who writes some of the most powerful female characters to hit a tv screen. The reality is, the fault for the lack of prominence or general girl power in the Avengers is a lot more the result of the writing and history of the production from Marvel's end rather than the interpretation of it from Whedon's.
