@13 In the states (I can't speak to anywhere else) Assistant Professors aren't really 'assistants' to a professor, they're real professors who haven't been tenured yet. When you do get tenure, you become a Full Professor. TAs, Teaching Assistants, are the actual assistants to professors.

Nope. Shit does not make sense. Not a bit.

Its worth mentioning, though, that TAs face a similar problem, but are generally students or grad students themselves, so the bar ought to be a bit lower. General rule: wait till grades are posted to bang your TA. Wait till you graduate or drop out to bang your prof.

Fantasies inherently involve a certain amount of suspension of disbelief. Personally I find suspending disbelief in terms of 'forgetting x is dead/doesn't actually exist' not one bit harder than suspending disbelief in terms of 'there might actually be a circumstance in which x wants to sleep with me'.

So my nerd self will happily keep masturbating to fantasies of hot young Harrison Ford, rugged old Harrison Ford, AND Han Solo, thanks.

Dan I'm with you 99% of the time but I think you're doing LIFE's boyfriend a great disservice by overlooking the fact that she stated that he does not think abortion should be banned, and that while he believes in personhood from conception, he thinks that its ok for them to have a disagreement about the issue. It doesn't sound like he's necessarily trying to make choices for her/control what she does with her body, he's simply expressing his opinion on the subject. His opinion is one which I myself wholeheartedly disagree with, but if he is truly not trying to force that opinion on others (and thats a big if) then I don't see it as a fundamental indication of assholery, just a difference of opinion.
