In Which Rob! Speaks For Us All.
Awwwwww. Memories. I gave up on posting due to a) getting a better job where I actually have to work during the day and b) not handling anonymous cruelty very well, but I still count a number of Sloggers/ex-Sloggers as friends, and nearly five years later I'm still with w7ngman. So thanks, Slog, for giving me the best thing to ever happen to me.

The First Hill Streetcar Should Make Your Car Stop.
Most SLU streetcar back-ups are due to cars who don't understand not entering an intersection when they can't clear it, not any fault of the streetcar. Considering it's frequently packed these days, I don't think the SLU streetcar can be considered a failure. It just took time to catch on.
I agree that pedestrian crossing around the streetcar and lightrail is generally terrible. In the case of crossing Mercer, the streetcar prioritization actually *helps* pedestrians, because it makes the light change and pedestrians are allowed to cross with it (unlike the crossing at Fairview/Valley, where it gets a whole cycle to itself and pedestrians have to wait for the next one).

A Merger in the Local Blog World?.
I like Seattle Crime, mostly because of the narrow focus. And the 911 map! I don't know that I would continue to read it if it was part of Publicola.
