I don't now where you got the idea that male athletes showing emotion and crying after a loss (or win) is anything new. NFL players cry. NBA players cry. WNBA players cry. Olympic athletes cry and many college athletes cry regardless of their gender. I was with you until the first sentence of the last paragraph, which I read over and over again to make sure I was reading it correctly.

Website, book, and on the ground sign-holding was done years ago by a Portland artist. She read at Elliott Bay Book Co. This artist must already have known.I'll have to find her name.
