Lunchtime Quickie: Cute Or Disgusting?.
When I was a kid I saw a presentation at the Science Center that told me that dogs have a huge amount o antibiotic enzymes or something or other in their saliva, so their mouths are much cleaner than humans and you are a lot safer kissing a dog than a person. Also that's why dog bites tend not to get infected, and that cat's mouths are basically teaming with horrible diseased bacteria, so you need to be careful if a house cat bites you and manage to break the skin.

Swiss Army Knives Will Be Allowed on Planes Next Month: What Do You Think?.
A large part of the reason the September Hijacking was successful was that it was understood that if you cooperate with the hijackers, you'll be safe. Between a locked cockpit and passengers no longer thinking their safe if they cooperate, I'd almost want to see someone try and hijack a plane with a knife again, just for how poorly it'd go for them.

Poetic Justice.
I just want to say, the second poem is much better. Part if it is that AABB is the worst type of poem, limericks weep about it.

Police: Vega Homicide Fits Prominent Robbery Trend.
Doesn't first degree murder in commission of a robbery make the attackers eligible for the death penalty? What exactly would classifying it as a hate crime do? I'm not trying to be flip, I'm genuinely curious.

Boston Red Sox to Create "It Gets Better" Video.
The thing that's great about the celebrity jocks doing it, isn't how encouraging it is to young gays, but it sends a message to young straight kids that you shouldn't bully people, which I know isn't the central idea of the project, but if your a young sports fan and you see your idol saying these things, then maybe the next time some other kid is being tormented, you might not go along with it.

Is The Game the Douchiest Book of All Time? A Reader Disagrees!.
I read it and didn't think it was douchey. The techniques described in the book are douchey and stupid, but the book itself is more of an inside examination of a subculture by someone who was part of it. I understand why people who only look at a couple parts think it's a douchey book, and I'm sure there are a lot of douche bags who read it and only picked up the douchey bits. But when it gets to the part where he's living with these people and describing how disgusting their house is and the weird games the guys play with each other, it get's really interesting. I guess it needs to be read as memoir and not as a self-help book. Also Tucker Max has two books and a movie, so Neil Strauss is no where near the douchiest writer ever.
