I Hate You, Garrison Keillor.
This guy won't look at a nude painting directly "lest [he] be taken for a pervert"? I think there's something deeply wrong with this person. I can understand a fifteen year old boy being uncomfortable in a situation such as this with a "sweet woman" by his side. But this guy is pushing SEVENTY. And what was that shit about the steam room? I only skimmed it, but it sounded to me like he was bragging about getting laid in Chicago; "And so on and so forth" betraying both his age and his laziness to finish the god-damned fucking piece.

Light Rail Derails!.
It seriously only delayed other trains by 13 min? Was anyone riding at this time that can verify this? That seems to me like a very good management of the situation. A delay of a only a few minutes for a significant disrupt in a single-line rail system is extremely good. Looks like Sound Transit knows what they're doing.

SPD: More Details on Brenton Murder Suspect.
@9: If you read my comment, you'll understand that I wasn't questioning the decision of the officers on scene to use lethal force, but rather your bloodlust in hoping that that end had been achieved.
Using financial justification for the taking of a life should be abhorrent to even the most callous of observers.

SPD: More Details on Brenton Murder Suspect.
@6: That's good. Maybe they should put that in the SPD employee conduct manual. Something like:
"It is the individual officer's responsibility to minimize costs and conserve taxpayer dollars. This responsibility includes but is not limited to, turning off engines of patrol vehicles when stopped for extended periods, minimizing expenditures for meals and other employee benefits, utilizing current technology to streamline clerical procedures, and SHOOTING TO KILL WHENEVER POSSIBLE."
Great idea...

SPD: More Details on Brenton Murder Suspect.
Is anybody else disturbed by all those explosives in an apartment complex? Hopefully the guy didn't smoke. Oh and yeah, looks like he did it. If he recovers, I hope he gets the psychiatric help (and obviously confinement from society) that he needs. Humans are such sad creatures. This man cared so much about some wrongheaded idea to indiscriminately take the life of another. What goes through one's mind? What is the rationale for such a killing? The premeditation, the other attempts- what a shame; what a waste.

SPD Statement on the Brenton Murder Suspect.
@4: I prefer "copkiller." The double "k" sound matches the vileness of the idea much better. You can really spit it out hard, like it's burning your tongue just sitting there on the tip.

Lunchtime Quickie.
I love how the second she starts singing, the dog tries to flee and she has to restrain it. Dogs aren't stupid, they just have an amazing tolerance for bullshit.

Webcam Death.
@13: "I would like the police to mention what she was wearing at the time of her death."
Yeah, because clearly she was asking for it. Your implied justification for domestic violence sickens me. To sloppily paraphrase a Mudede post from a couple years ago:
When we read about a grisly murder, we all want to believe that the victim is somehow responsible. "Oh, it's because they were cavorting with vile and violent people" or, "She must have been doing something to provoke her murderer, internet infidelity or the like."
The fact remains that, when push-button killing devices are at hand, there will always be a worse outcome than if they weren't.
