You are being a better example, a better person, a better testament, and a much-needed sense of hope to both your nephew - and yourself. Focus on that. Make that hope your message and your hope and BE your own personal "It Gets Better" video, for his sake and yours.
You know the larger community you have found for yourself will be there, for him and for you. They're your family. Grow into them.

I thought his comment was douchey, but completely fair given that she went after him in the first place for his legal posing work. Does it show the GOP double standard when it comes to anything involving sex (IOKIYAR)? Sure. But that's precisely why the good guys *have to be consistent and non-hypocritical* on these things, or else we're just playing to fear and bigotry for votes, too.

Joe - I never thought of anything like that before, but... Wow that is cool. I agree, tho, that continuity *is* part of what makes comics good, but that is usually in terms of character development not just "Captain X joined the mighty league three times before he went evil" and so on. As long as DC spent some time defining what each "core" character was, it could work.
Some of the early Ultimate Fantastic Four was some of the best stuff I've ever read; that kind of reboot was incredibly freeing.
usagi - I wasn't a LSH fan back in the day (I started with the Titans in 80), but years later I did read the series (all of them) up to the Legionnaires/Valor era. Reading what they did to the LSH heroes and history... I understand why so many fans were furious. (And, c'mon, Reep Daggle is a pretty funny name)
Oh - and yes. It would absolutely be Hal with the ring.
