Comics are a growth industry, and manga is still growing in exposure and popularity. Tokyopop was mismanaged at almost every level. Their payscale and editorial process for domestic talent didn't yield good work. Their foreign ports showed no restraint, they would publish almost any crap from Japan in the hopes that one or two titles would stick. Good riddance and more room in the market for publishers who take their work more seriously.
