#8 - Yeah, but Hugh Jackman is CLEARLY not 5'2", and they obviously didn't get an actor that was actually 5'2" because...well, because they could get Hugh Jackman. So that point doesn't quite work.

7 - "they live in the city, which frequently means they are rich by default -- city dwellers in Seattle, San Francisco, LA, New York, etc. pretty much by definition live in very expensive houses, and are at a minimum house-rich."

What? What about city dwellers who, you know, rent? According to you, not only do city dwellers own (which not all do, although I'm sure the ratio of owners to non-owners/renters varies by city), they own houses (as opposed to maybe a one-bedroom condo) and are "house-rich"? I'm dubious.

18 - That makes a lot more sense, as does 14's comment, than your original comment. Repeating the same old "white-middle-class gay male privilege" line re: marriage equality/immigration, which comes off whiny and dismissive, probably won't win anyone over to your way of thinking.

But now I see your and 14's point. It definitely has merit.

10 - " this is why radical queers consider gay marriage to be a homo-normative, White, middle-class, male privilege issue."

You haven't been to many civil unions or gay weddings, have you? For that matter, you obviously haven't browsed through the numerous photo galleries online of gay couples who have gotten married or civil union-ed (?) where it's legal. There are so many other people getting married besides white, middle-class men.

@7 - Um, gee, thanks. I wasn't trying to be a turd, I was honestly confused. I couldn't picture how that happened as I'm not familiar with how NY Times' reporters record their interviews. Thanks for clarifying, even if you were kind of a jerk about it.

Wait, I'm confused. OK, you forgot they were recording the talk, but then when you got there you didn't notice the camera or voice recorder or whatever they used to record you?

@27 - Canuck, that was Janet Jackson, not Paula Abdul. For shame.

Yes, this is my only contribution to this thread.

@6, 24, 35, etc. - Yeah, because Dan's lowly editor-in-chief income couldn't possibly be supplemented by his multiple, nationally best-selling books, could it?

@112 - Have you ever read anything of Dan's? You think he feels guilty for his non-exclusive relationship? Seriously. Try reading a book or two of Dan's before you rush to some stupid judgement. Hell, trying reading a column or two.

25 - If it was just kinky sex, that would imply it was consensual. "Rough & abusive" implies that it was not.

Um, that's kind of funny, "proudfromsouth." Maybe you should take your own advice first?
