Face it. Some kids have iPhones, iPod Touches and iPads. Regardless, Apple already has age controls built in to the app store.
The hypocrisy is that they seem perfectly happy to continue selling cocktail databases and the like. Hell, about 36 different apps are returned from an iTunes search for "marijuana." I guess recreational drug use is ok. But boobies? They are undeniably dangerous to the youth (even those who have their own).

@wilbur - If taxpayers refuse to subsidize SAR, it won't exist, regardless of fees levied against beneficiaries of the system. Also, aside from perhaps being self-referential, who gets to decide who is and who is not an "ignorant douche." And assuming one could ever define rules around this, what happens if a known "ignorant douche" is hurt and in need of help and known to be unable to pay? By your logic, the answer is "fuck em."

@those who think the rescued should pay
What makes you think that the only people who employ the services of SAR are mountain climbers who may or may not be taking unnecessary risk? Moreover, who would you have decide?
I've been a volunteer SAR pilot for the WSDOT for 15 years and have seen the system activated for a huge array of reasons. Tell me, would you have the family pay the SAR costs for a student pilot who died when his instructor decided to commit suicide? Or the family of the instructor?
What about the thousands of dollars spent surveying the extensive flood damage that devastated huge portions of NW Washington in floods last spring? Who pays for that? The family who built their farmhouse in a once in a 100 years flood plain?
Or what about the two airline pilots returning home from the Arlington airshow in a small Cessna? Despite their years of experience, two pilots (and a little girl) in the plane who apparently made some bad decisions resulting in the death of all three? Who should pay for looking for them?
In my professional and personal opinion, I find the very suggestion that some people are simply not worth saving callous, arrogant and offensive. But I will add that should any of you go missing, I'd still risk my life (again) to help you survive.
