@12, There you go putting words in mouths, I never said anything about bribes. However, If you believe receiving huge campaign contributions from Wall street and big banks has nothing to do with being in cahoots with the oligarchy then I'm not the only idealist here.
Also, It's not going to make you win the internet, so you can spare me the sarcasm this time around.

@5, Sanders is polling above Clinton against Trump because people who are on the fence about Trump would take Sanders over Clinton any day. These people HATE Hillary Clinton. They see her as a crooked, disingenuous, Big Money shill. They realize deep down Trump is a buffoon, yet respect him for being up front about it. They also respect Sanders for being a straight shooter. They view Clinton as doing and saying anything to get elected, like her recent revisionist Nancy Reagan AIDS hero comments, which were a pathetic attempt at pandering to the right.
In November when it comes down to voting for a tacky reality show host, and a serious presidential candidate who genuinely, truly, isn't a sell out, it'd be a landslide. This isn't the cold war anymore and communism isn't a powerful enough scare tactic. Trump will have a hard time finding something as detrimental to Sanders as Clinton's crookedness. Further undermining her campaign are the corrupt tactics used to steal the nomination, alienating true progressives on the left.
I don't want our first woman president to be the reincarnation of Nixon.

Better to be a Bernout than a $Hillout. The nomination may be a long shot, but it's still important to support Sander's campaign. We've already won something by showing how much support there is for politics free of Big Money. His campaign has also brought to light a some problems with the democratic party and our rigged voting system. I'm really disappointed in the stranger for not seeing how important that is. Clinton hasn't clinched the nomination yet, Sanders still has an incredible lead over Trump unlike Clinton in the polls. I'm proud of him for all of it.

I really don't know what would be worse: A POTUS that hates the poor, people of color, and gays to our face, or one that hates us behind our backs

I just hope France and the international community are more rational in their response than the US was with 9/11... Responding to transgression with understanding and sympathy does not make one weak. We need to adjust our worldview and yet not allow ourselves to be taken advantage of.

They fucked with the french, and people really LOOOVE french shit. Is that racist? I don't know, probably. It's France so fuck that shit and give me my rosé.

I'm excited to see this! My favorite Jeunet movie is A Very Long
Engagement. I haven't seen Delicatessen, I need to get on that. Jeunet's style is like combining the best qualities of Terry Gilliam and Wes Anderson. Whimsical and fantastic yet dark.

@5 It's not just the summer, Slog has significantly decreased it's output over the last couple years, in addition to giving up on weekends. They've lost many good writers and the new ones are far from prolific. It's disappointing because it used to be so great.

Seriously Slog? Even the Capitol hill blog was all over the shootings yesterday. The only thing posted between Friday and Monday was an Elvis comic and a snarky (even by Slog standards) post about firing Free Will Astrology. What is happening over there!? We all want the weekend off but that doesn't mean shit stops happening. Lazy.

#3 FTW: Apparently The Stranger can't be bothered with "news" on Saturdays and Sundays anymore. Because, you know, news just stops on weekends. Duh.
