Re: The Numbers Still Have Ref. 71 Passing.....
For Pierce County, you have to consider the oddles of "I've got mine" folks and their big churches in Gig Harbor, Puyallup/South Hill/Sumner/Bonney Lake/exurbs, plus the military.
In Tacoma, there's no pro-1033 signs or anything that I've seen, and just a handful of no-71 signs (not to stereotype, but they're mostly in a heavily Soviet-bloc-immigrant area, with Tacoma's slavic/Russian community being pretty vocal on the anti-gay tip)
Actually drove past a small-but-significant pro-71 sign holding group, looked like a lot of teenagers/early 20s folks, right by the Tacoma Mall this afternoon. It was nice. Didn't drive too much around Tacoma today, but they're the only group I saw out holding signs.

O They Will Know We Are Christians....
It is a totally regular coffee stand, no bikinis or anything unusual. It's a drive-thru stand just down the road. (they're right down the road from me). The low-hanging fruits of temptation.

Why?, Mount Eerie, No Kids @ the Vera Project.
It was probably the most structured Microphones/Mt Eerie set I've seen, though I have avoided him for a few years after sitting through about 20 minutes of solo steel drum jams one time.. Last night was nice. There were recognizable songs, they played well, it sounded good.
No Kids kinda sounded like Belle & Sebastian, circa "If You're Feeling Sinister," if they were really into Steely Dan (in a good way). I liked it.

Soundtracks for Stoners.
One of the best times I've had involving music and weed was eating a bunch of brownies, then driving all over Bellingham (the hills and curves! great topography for the driving-while-body-high) while blaring Loveless.

The Power of Beauty.
"Indeed, it is very curious that the Discovery Institute (a conservative think tank) picked the rather racy image above..."
Within the Conservative hate of sex, there is the conflict between their human love of sex and their religious belief is that sex is dirty.
Thus, open, healthy expressions of sex other than "this is my wife, we must have sex to procreate" are shut down by religious/cultural beliefs about sex, so the main outlet is the unhealthy: affairs, anonymous sex in bathrooms, exploitation of children, and posting provocative pictures without the conscious admission of their underlying sexuality.

Plumb and Plumber.
Think of the flip side of him not letting his "gay friends" near his kids..... would anyone want to be actual friends with a person who believes virulent stereotypes about you?
Like, if I was out at a bar with a friend, and they told me that they liked to spend time with me, but they're keeping an eye on their wallet because, as a greedy jew, I'd probably steal their money the first chance I got? We would probably not be friends anymore.
Also, what's the deal with anti-gay folks always claiming they have gay friends. We should offer a reward for anyone that can prove that: 1) They're actually gay, and 2) They're actual, verifiable friends of this dingus.
