So was the injunction filed by Dennis Saxman about the Pike/Pine development ever resolved? I thought the original reason it became a parking lot was because of his filing the complaint about the city not following neighborhood input design guidelines.
And then, you know, credit sort of fell apart. The parking lot is lame and ugly, but I'm not entirely sure the fault lies with the developer.

This seemed like a given as soon as the workers in SC voted to demolish their union, which was months ago.

I asked one publisher out in a portable if people had been finding them, and she said yes...after they had made a few signs and taped them up themselves. So the signs were scribbled in red Sharpie. It wasn't cute or funky.
The only way to figure out who was stationed in each classroom was to find the sign taped to the door--smallish print and only viewable as long as you were facing east and standing still. Never found a schedule of who was reading when. The few publishers I was interested in AND was able to find, all seemed to be pretty frustrated, and this was mid-afternoon on Saturday. I'm surprised they came back on Sunday.
Coming in from the food court (outside), I somehow ended up walking right through the men's room, where all the sinks were knee-high.
I ran away shortly after that. If they want to be annual, they really need to step it up with some basic event planning skills.

Yes, regrettable. I actually resold my Wii after playing Zelda when it first came out. There hasn't been a really good game since; this certainly doesn't make me want to rush out and buy one, and I'm a girl who watches some Project Runway.

Maybe she wants beavers to know their place in society and stop trying to move beyond the unfortunate stereotypes of the order Rodentia.
Dow Constantine supports their little beaver hopes and dreams.

Perhaps the cutest, haplessest robots ever. What's the Czech word for "adorable yet grim"?

Seattle Youth Garden Works is affiliated with Solid Ground; SYGW is a coalition member of Marra Farm Giving Garden. Marra is the place where the South End SYGW have their garden plots, where they grow produce sold at Columbia City Farmer's Market.

They're both awesome groups; my point is just that I think Solid Ground, as a locally-focused umbrella organization, is in a great position to distribute the Strangercrombie bucks around to a bunch of programs targeting food and poverty--they have some programs for seniors, and some for youth, and some for age-doesn't-matter, just need. And they get an enormous amount of fresh produce into food banks. (And nope, I don't work for 'em--just a long-term supporter.)

I agree with #9. Solid Ground has a focus on poverty-related programs, particularly hunger and housing.

The health department does a reasonably good job in communication and education for food service workers and the business owners; it's not actually in their best interest to just shut places down because they feel like it.
Henderson thinks they're 'more of a police force' because he puts them in the position of policing him. It's like he's bitching about getting a speeding ticket after he was caught speeding on radar.
Or he could try sharing the bong with the next health inspector who stops by. All those unpaid furloughs and pay freezes have to be cutting into the pot budgets of county employees.
