Who is glad that The Stranger is doing excellent reviews of unique and creative restaurants that help define the "Seattle taste"? This guy!

Well done.

I was totally going to say what Eric said. "Bad Year" is one of my favorite songs ever, and its sits in that album at that spot perfectly.

Violence by the state against people: justifiable acts of law enforcement.
Violence against the state by people: terrorism at worst or felony assault charges at best.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. If the state demands that people act in civil and non-violent ways, should they not hold themselves to that same standard, or perhaps hold themselves to higher standards?

I hate to say it, but Megan, it seems like you're at least 5-10 years behind with punk and hardcore. GCL were really great, but how about writing about some current stuff?

Getting the Two-Drummers thing right is super hard. I remember hearing that Milemarker's last album was going to feature two drummers, and when I saw them play in Chapel Hill on that tour I was stoked to see how they'd do it, but they totally fell flat. We're hopefully going to record the songs we played at the Block Party, and I think we'll be able to make the more subtle interplay stand out more than in an outdoor setting.

Eric! Here's something funny to write about about POBPAH: while their debut album is pretty spectacular and consistently good, there are a number of moments that derivative to the point of near-plagarism. Case in point: "This Love Is Fucking Right" is pretty much the same song as "Lost Without You Here" by Rocketship (another Slumberland band), and the song Gentle Sons is likewise eerily similar to Jesus & Mary Chain's "Just Like Honey"...An intentional homage? A rekindling of a dead genre's best moments? Lazy songwriting? Plagarism? Inquiring minds want to know.

I definitely preferred their earlier stuff - especially when they played shows in their apocalyptic costumes and didn't sound quite so "At The Drive In". Plus, their really early stuff included samples from Jawbreaker and Universal Order of Armageddon! Cool.
