In short order we will have liquor super-stores like they do in California. These places will be 10,000+ feet of booze buying nirvana. And since they will have such a large physical footprint they will be able to stock most of what anybody would ever want. They will also be big enough to buy large quantities from distributors. How do i know? Because there is a demand for it, therefore it will happen. They will draw customers with lower prices and greater selection. Just because they aren't here on day one doesn't mean they won't be here on day 101.

WAIT! - The Mayor just said police can confiscate anything that can be used as a weapon. What can't be used as a weapon? Can they search people bags and cars? Did we just lose some constitutionally protected rights over a few broken windows? What's going to happen when it's not just some broken windows and spray paint?

Why is it that nobody is mentioning the liquor superstores like those found in California? I bet it would take about 6 seconds for these to open if they are allowed to do so. These places are aisle after aisle of hooch. They have everything from Jack Daniels to elderflower liqueur and beyond. They have a way better selection (and prices) than our state-run stores. Is there something in the initiative that would prevent these places to operate in Washington?

@11 - "Rufies are not fun. They are not sold on the street for to be ingested for fun."

Not true. I've bought roofies lots of times and the only one i've ever slipped them to is myself. I've also taken a fair amount of GHB in my time which is a hoot.

I'm not saying that people don't buy these drugs for more nefarious purposes than getting effed up, but to say that they aren't fun or can't be fun isn't true.

the best hangover mitigation is to drink as much water as possible before going to sleep/passing out. Don't drink so much of it that you make yourself puke, but try to get at least 32 oz in you. I usually try to double that amount. Wait on the ibu, aspirin, alleve what have you until the next morning. Your liver has enough to deal with with the booze no need to beat it up any further.

@30 That is what quality restaurants do with every meal they put out. That is the reason a well-done steak will come out at the same time as the mid-rare, the pecan crusted pork and the salmon in dill sauce even though they all have very different cooking times and different sides, which themselves have different cooking times. That is a pretty basic example of a four-top. Imagine about 6 of those four-tops. Maybe ten two-tops and maybe even some 5-6-9 and 12 tops thrown in. That is a pretty normal hour for a restaurant. So yeah knowing how long it takes to get a dish to a table is something every good restaurant does...but nice job on being jerky with your post.
