State Senator Pam Roach: "The Flood Waters Have Been Really Let Loose on Taxes".
Some of the worst offenders are Florida, where the top 1 percent pays a 2.1 percent tax rate while the bottom 20 percent of households pay 13.5 percent; Illinois, 4.1 percent and 13 percent, respectively; Nevada, 1.6 percent and 8.9 percent, respectively; Texas, 3 percent and 12.2 percent, respectively; and South Dakota, 1.9 percent and 11 percent, respectively. Washington state though, is the worst, where the richest 1 percent pay a 2.6 percent tax rate while the poorest 20 percent pay a whopping 17 percent in taxes.

Please Don't, Black Flag.
You might want to check out the video of GG's birthday party with Ron back on vocals, it's loud raw... It's BLACK FLAG man! I saw them in every incarnation and IMO Ron was the best frontman and he still looks and sounds great.

Never Heard of 'Em: Regrets.
I like that there's always something I missed or didn't bother listening to, I'm still discovering great music after all these years, and each time it's new adventure. The same goes for all the overlooked books that pop up out of the blue when you need them the most. Life would be very dull if all we had to listen to or read or watch was the mainstream, top 40, best sellers, top box office hits?
And sharing those gems with friends makes it even better.

Fireworks At The Needle, And How Should I Quit Smoking (Again)?.
The 1-800-QUIT-NOW Line has a lot of useful tips and even sent me free gum and patches. But I cut down from about 15 a day for decades to 3-5 a day now with the help of those e-cigs, you get the nicotine but none of the chemicals. Great Photos BTW, I remember one year that was socked in and the top of the space needle was shrouded in clouds. It was very cool and surreal as if there was a war or alien invasion happening...

Easy Street Records to Close Queen Anne Store Jan. 18.
Sad news, made even worse by the anti-cultural slop that will replace it! Easy Streets first store out in Bellevue/Redmond area was where I bought some great records in the late 70's. the owners Kim and his wife were so cool, it was one of the few stores you could count on to get the latest releases, 1st Dickies album, the Heartbreakers live at Max's, The Ramones It's Alive Import and on and on... Any time an independent record store closes the community it serves suffers.

Chinas Comidas "Peasant/Slave".
Thank you to The Stranger for taking note of the bands and unsung musicians that all played a role in the rich history of Pacific NW music, Keep the lessons coming.
