I second that.

But while we're on the topic: it is not one of the ten crack commandments per se, but I always thought "stay low and keep firing" was pretty solid advice.

Is the building being knocked down? I actually really love that building, as much as I can't bring myself to go to Taco Time since they started posting caloric content on the menu.

I want light rail to every neighborhood and I want I-5 covered and made into a park (with some very limited restaurants/coffee shops/small retail) from Pine to Lakeview.
Nov 3 Strath commented on Jonathan Raban on Dorothea Lange.
A few weeks back I posted some photos that Dorothea Lange took in Washington State. I think to say that she would find a sense of déjà vu today kind of overstates it – poverty is poverty and there are definitely parallels, but the Depression was a specific economic situation that was far more widespread and severe.

What's interesting to me about Freeway Park is the way people move through it – you can cruise through quickly and use it as a shortcut, but if you want to stop, there are any number of little enclaves that are worlds into themselves. It represents the aspirations of the city really well.

I might add the reclaimed park by the Duwamish to your list as a representation of urban history.

Honestly the Columbia Ctr is negligible to me because they haven't made an effort to extend the outer aesthetic of the building to its interior.

Reminds me of this scene in "Party Girl":

I thought it was sweet and funny. It reminded me a lot of Justin Colt Beckman's Honky Tonk and made me wonder if there are other precedents in this kind of live projection/performance idea.
Oct 26 Strath commented on "Basically, We Will All Catch Fire and Fall Into the Sea and Die.".
This demands a Burial remix. If you start "Ghost Hardware" right when the map comes up, it syncs nicely for a minute.
Oct 23 Strath commented on Tonight's Project Runway.
@15, agreed, moving to LA has killed the show – it brought it down to the level of America's Next Top Model... it has removed itself from any real context in the fashion industry, without doing anything particularly interesting with LA to show that the industry could potentially widen its gaze. If there's a next season, they should either (1) make a fresh return to NY, or (2) choose another city and make it a traveling show. Calico Corners, get ready.

I love it when Wolf calls him "The Falcon" at 1:35.
