One of the reasons we have so much more divorce in our generation is that most people consider affairs a marriage ender. Not saying a lifelong monogamous relationship with one person is worth putting up with cheating, but I guarantee if you dig into the past of people who are still married in their 80, most of them cheated.
They stayed together DESPITE the cheating, and worked it out (or didn't and hate each other in their old age and misery.)

@#2, no, paying child support is not optional. It's not that I don't get your argument. But here's how it goes. When a woman decides to engage in penetrative vaginal intercourse, she runs a minimal risk of getting pregnant if she is fertile. She therefore has a choice to make, and one she has hopefully pondered before hand. A man has the same choice to consider before he has sex, but it's not child support. It's whether or not he is willing to at the bare minimum support a child. I think it's a selfish, horrible viewpoint to think a man can wash his hands of financial responsibility if he doesn't want a kid. If he's not prepared to have a kid, then he should have a vasectomy plain and simple, and get retested for sperm count. Sex results in children more often than our best laid plans. So man the fuck up.

Journalist Dorothy Parvaz, Missing for 18 Days, Is Freed By Iran.
It wouldn't hurt to have, y'know, an actual article somewhere up near the top of the home page. I found out about Dorothy through The Stranger, but only learned of her release through the Free Dorothy Parvaz FB page. It might be nice after having her as the top story for a couple weeks to not expect people to find out about her release by scrolling waaaaaaaaaaay down the site!

In the context of blowing off steam, I totally relate. I'm sure anon doesn't hate all her clients, and probably has good relationships with most of them. But I know JUST the type she's talking about. They're not in there every once in a while to get a break from the kids. They're in there as if it is a full-time job to stay pampered. The best is when they bring their vapid teenage daughters in with them and get them eyebrow waxes starting at age 12, grooming them for a life of trophy wifeism. Entitlement oozes off them, and they look down on us tradespeople who weren't fortunate enough to bag a rich guy to fund that kind of lifestyle. I also see these same women in the spa when the nest is empty, their efforts now desperately focused on not being traded in for a newer model now that their nominal job as childrearer is done. And that breaks my heart. I wouldn't trade places with any of them.

Federally Offensive.
@23, I know, right? I can't get through one Comicon event season without some drug czar wanting to sleep on my couch and eat all my vacuum-packed salmon because "Oh my God, we can't even get salmon this good in DC!" F***ing thugs. I totally feel Blethen's pain.
