@8 Toby, O'Brien's ratio of favorable to unfavorable is great, and I can't think of anyone on the council who is more accessible and isn't retiring.

@5 I think that the phone book opt out registry is worth at least a dollar to me and probably even more to Seattle Public Utilities, whose ratepayers must get rid of whatever crap these companies drop at their doorsteps. And that is the outcome of O'Brien's legislation to me.

@28 RTID? I thought that died in 2007, while the voters approved ST2 in 2008. I think a 6 year old would have a hard time dealing with the Bellevue City Council, Kemper Freeman, glacial soils, etc. And I for one am glad that ST chose a route that collects passengers in Rainier Valley instead of a straight shot through industrial nothing. It sounds to me like you are saying that all the transit riders on the airport line should be coming from places that don't yet have light rail. Telling the future in 1996 is a pretty high bar.
Jan 26, 2015 kurisu commented on Transit Advocates Dance on the Grave of Tom Rasmussen.
oh libertine... where to begin? I guess @26. Since there will be no stops in between Westlake and Capitol Hill and there will be fewer buses in the tunnel to slow down the trains, 5 minutes seems more than reasonable to me. As far as Sound Transit ridership estimates, you can continue to criticize estimates from 20 years ago all you want, but they made responsible decisions to switch to the (lower ridership) airport segment first to avoid a Bertha-type situation and had to retool. I really don't know what the future holds, but those 20 year old ridership estimates could potentially be exceeded once the lines that those estimates included are open.

@8 Bullshit. It was Godden who penned the clueless "nothing to see hear, move along" editorial accusing McGinn for spreading "FUD" on the tunnel. Her votes are on the legislation that allowed the tunnel to move forward without accounting for the risks we now face. Zero accountability whatsoever.

Let's see. I'm a property owner in Seattle, but the tunnel has no exits downtown. So how exactly does it benefit me?

I saw that the ebook was only a buck cheaper and Amazon wanted me to pay $22 for an e-version of a book about inequality. And I figured, fuck off.

@26 I was stuck on the highway this morning but I support encouraging more people to bike when they are able, freeing up space for those of us with kids or have to travel longer distances or who don't have the ability to ride transit, walk, bike, etc.
May 29, 2014 kurisu commented on Dear Seattle: Stay Home This Morning, Seriously.
@17 It's not narcissistic to encourage those able to ride bikes to do so. It might be narcissistic to devalue their safety to preserve your free parking space.

@34 No one except your fearmongering neighbors is talking about getting rid of half the parking. With more effective management, parking loss should be low. The parking study I saw on the website showed that there's ample parking nearby, if not directly in front of your business.
