Hopefully if it doesn't explicitly allow it, it can also be interpreted that it doesn't explicitly exclude it. This argument should work both ways. Airport workers should be able to earn a living wage, and they should earn it NOW.

The picks seem decent, but holy crap that's a lot of money. No wonder the rent is too damn high.

@6, 4% is not a huge margin, but yes he should be out in front picking his own team since they will be accountable to him.

@30, hey brilliant, White Center and South Park are in District 1. Their needs will be crushed by the monied folks with the big mountain views near the water.

My vote for Sawant was a protest vote against Conlin. I knew he would win, but wanted to send a message. I was happy to support Sawant as one of 9 voices, but would change my perspective if she was the only representative for my neighborhood.

Can I get a Free Seattle Times t-shirt? Seriously, no way I'm paying $4/week for content. Maybe $1/week, but even then I'd likely work around it through other news sources.
Feb 27, 2013 SeattleD commented on New Police Software Can Predict Where Crimes Will Likely Occur in Seattle.
Why have we resorted to gadgets to do our policing? Oh, yeah, because our police officers don't know their communities well enough to do this on their own. Good spend of money, I much rather have software than more actual officers and better training.

I trust Holmes way more than I trust McGinn. When can we kick this dude out of office already? McGinn = dead man walking. Can't wait until the police are able to take on some real reform.

Question: where is the settlement money coming from and how much did it cost the city to defend the suit? Just wondering how many tax dollars we've spent on this. For the record, I opted out of the YP list the minute I got the opportunity. Those things go straight into the recycle bin (like I have that much room in my place to store a pile of useless paper).
Feb 19, 2013 SeattleD commented on Gondolas: Yea or Nay?.
Stop screwing around with our transit money already. When can I get a real damn Seattle subway? Something that doesn't get stuck in traffic and can move people quickly across the entire city. Are we capable of this or are the folks in charge just f&cking around?

Love it. Finally common sense prevails. Good for Harrell listening to the people. Accountability at the top for SPD is long overdue.
