@20: It aired live. (And not putting it on the website after it aired would be stupid.)

@4 How does the fact that the plot of the books include fashion shows, talk shows, and love triangles reflect anything about whether the characters fit stereotypical gender roles? I don't know whether you have a point or not, but your post certainly isn't making one.

Jim Bob actually was in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002.

The weirdest part is that she thinks the ban on pet sales is about "protecting people from themselves" and not "protecting animals from assholes."

What bugs me about Twilight are the stupid fans who want to turn into vampires, even though the books make it pretty clear that being a vampire is a boring, inconvenient hassle that never ends, and the only reason Bella wants to be a vampire is so she doesn't feel all old and ugly next to Edward.

I'm under the impression it is actually a surfing contest FOR dogs, and that Marmaduke did not actually compete--and win--against human surfers. Am I mistaken? This is a very important distinction.

When Don Hewett (the creator of 60 Minutes) died, 60 Minutes aired a fascinating tribute episode that included a lot of behind-the-scenes information about how the show is put together. One thing they said is that the contributors come up with their own stories and pitch them for the show, which implies that Leslie is the one who always has the idea for these technology pieces where she looks like a goggle-eyed twit. I guess it's easy for her to find technology-related topics that strike her as fascinating, since she comes into it with such a blank slate.
