Subarea Equity: A Stupid Policy Is a Stupid Policy Is a Stupid Policy.
Yes, SAE may be a dumb idea. But when it benefitted the suburbs and hurt Seattle, it was just "the way things are", and couldn't be changed. Now that it looks like Seatle might, horrors, actually benefit from SAE, then of course we have to get rid of it. So I guess if we want to get rid of stupid ideas, we must find some way to show that they benefit Seattle. My concern with Ed Murray is that he has more loyalty to his Olympia connections than he does to the people of Seattle.

I Really Want Metro to Get This Idea Right.
At grade rail (I.e., streetcars) is the kiss of death for using a street as a bicycle route. For example, Westlake. The cycle track planned for Broadway will mitigate the street car tracks there, but it doesn't continue on Jackson. Jackson is becoming significantly more dangerous for bicyclists, and this is unfortunate since Jackson provides a reasonable grade connection from south Capitol Hill and the CD to Pioneer Square and the water front.

Who Would You Pick for Mayor?.
@28 - Historically, Mayor of Seattle has not been a good political launch pad to anything. I've lived here since the 70s. Several Seattle mayors (Norm Rice most recently) have tried to go on to bigger and better things. All have failed. King County Executive has been better preparation (Gary Locke and John Spellman).
